Titiyo – Homeland 2025
Titiyo follows up the autumn album with an extensive tour.
On her upcoming album “Homeland,” Titiyo interprets Swedish songs that have inspired her over the years but also say something about the present time – and what hopes she has for the future.
The album will be released on September 26 and will be followed by a major concert hall tour, her very first, which begins the same day in Kristianstad. The tour will be conducted with an entirely new band.
– I am really looking forward to performing the album live! says Titiyo.
This year marks ten years since Titiyo’s first Swedish-language full-length album, the largely autobiographical “13 gården.”
Over the past decade, she has experienced numerous highlights, such as becoming a mother again, but she has also witnessed how the world and life have changed.
All of this has been present in the creation of “Homeland,” where she interprets Swedish songs that have inspired her over the years but also say something about her and the present time – and what hopes she has for the future.
– It’s always emotional to record an album, but this time it became even more tangible, she says. These are such powerful songs that all express so much, but also because I’ve gone through a tough period where I’ve had to reflect and get to the bottom of things. Then it’s been very comforting to have this album to hold onto. It feels like I’m entering a new phase now.
The first taste from the album is a song she has already released, but then in English. In 2012, Titiyo released an album with the side project El Rojo Adios where she did a gripping interpretation of Bob Dylan’s “It’s All Over Now, Baby Blue,” which has become something of an audience favorite. Now she’s doing it again. Together with Daniel Bengtson from Studio Rymden, she elevates the production from the El Rojo Adios version and borrows the lyrics from Mikael Wiehe’s translation (from the 1978 album “Sjömansvisor”).
– It was surprisingly easy to find my way into the Swedish lyrics and make them land naturally, says Titiyo.
Titiyo follows up this fall’s album with an extensive concert hall tour, her very first, around Sweden – and she does it in the company of an entirely new band.
